The Bates County Sheriff's Posse: Why We Do What We Do
Member Application: Forms
Who We Are: The Bates County Volunteer Sheriff's Posse is a team of dedicated individuals united by service, integrity, and community. We proudly support the Sheriff's Office and the citizens of Bates County, stepping in wherever we’re needed—with readiness, purpose, and heart.
Supporting Law Enforcement: Our volunteers assist our sworn deputies by handling non-enforcement tasks and event support, allowing them to focus on frontline law enforcement duties. Whether it's traffic control, search and rescue operations, crowd safety, or logistical coordination, we’re the backup they count on!
Building Community Partnerships: We work hand-in-hand with local cities, schools, churches, and service organizations to make Bates County stronger. From hosting safety workshops to participating in local festivals and community clean-ups, our partnership-driven approach builds trust and visibility across generations.
Empowering the Next Generation: Our Youth Academy is growing! This dynamic program educates and inspires kids with dreams of law enforcement careers, teaching responsibility, leadership, and foundational policing skills. We're proud to mentor tomorrow’s protectors today.
Meeting Real Needs for Real Families: The Posse plays a quiet but essential role in supporting families, especially children, during times of crisis or need. We help coordinate resources, raise awareness for local support services, and extend a hand wherever a family might need one—no questions asked.
Why We Volunteer: Because we care. We care about our neighbors. We care about safety. We care about seeing Bates County thrive. Our service is rooted in purpose—not recognition. We believe that when the community comes together, everyone wins.
Join the Posse. Make a Difference. If you’re passionate about service, have a few hours to give, and want to be part of something meaningful, we’d love to meet you.
