Youth Posse Academy and Youth Scholarships
Investing in the Future: Bates County Posse & Youth Empowerment
The Bates County Sheriff's Posse is deeply committed to uplifting the youth of Bates County through a blend of education, mentorship, and community engagement. Their efforts center around three key initiatives:
• Youth Posse Program: Established in 2025, this annual educational initiative invites high school students to explore careers in law enforcement, leadership, and civic service. Participants gain hands-on experience under the guidance of the Sheriff's Office and Posse members, building a strong foundation for future public service.
• Scholarships: The Posse supports promising students with financial assistance for higher education, helping remove barriers and encourage continued learning and leadership development.
• Community Events: Through events like the Posse Family Fun Day, the organization creates joyful, interactive experiences for families and children. These gatherings feature fire trucks, police vehicles, Posse horse rides, and more—fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community while celebrating youth involvement.
